Die Zeitschrift enthält wissenschaftliche Beiträge im Themenfeld der Geographien des Regionalen, Geographien der Verräumlichung sowie der wissenschaftlichen Landeskunde und präsentiert den State of the Art einer modernen Regionalwissenschaft. Die Geographien des Regionalen umfassen theoretisch-konzeptioneller Ansätze über spezifische qualitative und quantitative Methoden/Methodologien, Fragen der Globalisierung, (Re-)Territorialisierung bis zu regionalbezogenen Untersuchungen und Darstellungen.
This journal contains academic contributions to the field of geographies of the regional, geographies of spatialization, as well as geographies of scientific regional and cultural studies. It represents the state of the art of modern regional science or regional studies. Geographies of the regional include a wide range of theoretical and conceptual approaches from specific qualitative and quantitative methods/methodologies, issues of globalization, and (re)territorialization to regionally oriented investigations and representations
